Opis
An effective panko® 2-in-1 trap for clothes moths and kitchen (food) moths.
1. Food (kitchen) moths.
In Polish homes, when we talk about food moths we are most often dealing with the Indian meal moth (Plodia interpunctella), the Mediterranean flour moth (Ephestia kuehniella), and the meal moth (Pyralis farinalis).
Food moths feed mainly on dry food products: flour, groats, cereal flakes, nuts, dried fruit and sugar. The adult insects usually fly around, but it is the larvae that cause the most damage. For example – the Indian meal moth lays around 170 eggs on average, and the larvae hatch after about 8–10 days at room temperature.
2. Clothes moths.
When the problem concerns clothing, it is usually the common clothes moth (Tineola bisselliella) or the case-bearing clothes moth (Tinea pellionella).
Clothes moths feed on fabrics and natural materials: wool, silk, furs, linen and leather. The adult insects are less "destructive" than the larvae — it is the larvae that make holes in clothing. They are most often found in wardrobes, dressing rooms and attics — anywhere clothes are stored.
Although there are many species of moths, it is these that are noticed most often and cause the greatest damage.
Important: The presence of moths does not immediately mean a serious health risk (although they can carry microorganisms), but it is certainly a hygiene problem and can cause considerable losses — so it is worth reacting and getting effective traps. Moths usually fly at night, so we are often unaware of how many of them there may be in our home. A large number of moths caught in our traps therefore often comes as quite a surprise.
Moth traps panko® 2-in-1 are used to monitor the presence of these insects by catching them. The attractively designed trap works perfectly in kitchens, pantries and warehouses, right next to kitchen cabinets, as well as in bedrooms and dressing rooms. It is very easy to use.
Shelf life of the trap in sealed packaging: 36 months. Once set out, the effective working time of the trap is limited by how contaminated the adhesive surface becomes. Under standard conditions it is recommended to replace the traps once every 30 days, but if a significant part of the adhesive surface is clearly still active, replacing them once every 60 days is also correct.
Disposal: traps filled with moths should be treated as ordinary municipal waste (mixed waste).
