The spotted wing drosophila (Drosophila suzukii) is an invasive fly species that attacks ripening soft fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, sour cherries, sweet cherries). Females lay eggs under the skin of the fruit, which leads to rapid rotting of the crop. The panko® Cover-Trap is an effective tool for monitoring and reducing the population of this pest, and it works without insecticides.

Unlike ordinary sticky boards, this trap uses a specific sex pheromone that lures male spotted wing drosophila. Combining the attracting power of the pheromone with the visual stimulus of the yellow colour ensures a high catch rate.
