Special features: The traps catch codling moth exclusively. The inside of the traps does not get contaminated by leaves or other insects. The design of the trap eliminates the possibility of birds coming into contact with the glue, as happens with standard traps.

Codling moth (Cydia pomonella L.) is one of the most dangerous orchard pests, threatening apple, pear and other fruit trees. Its larvae bore into the fruit, causing it to rot and drop. How does the codling moth trap work?

The trap uses a pheromone — a substance emitted by female codling moths — to lure adult males. The attracted moths land on the glue-coated surface, where they are immobilised. This is an ecological and effective method of monitoring the pest population and determining the best moment to apply additional plant protection methods if needed.
